Increase Your Optin Rate With 3 Easy Steps

Anytime you have a new visitor to your site, your primary goal is to get them to optin to your e-mail list. As they say "the money's in the list". So you should try to make the signup process as easy and clear-cut as you possibly can. This way people know exactly what you want them to do and when to do it. Sometime, people really just need to be told what to do.
So here are 3 proven strategies that you can use to immediately increase your optin rates:
1. Only give them one option.
Since your goal is to get the optin, it should be the only option that you are giving your visitor. So in order for them to move forward on your site they need to optin for your free ezine, special report, e-book, and so on. They get their freebie in return for giving you their email address. If you have a lot of links to direct people off of your landing page, including Google ads, then you are essentially leaving money on the table. Don't allow them to leave from your page until they complete the require task of opting in.
2. Have only 2 form fields:
First Name and E-mail are really all that you need on a standard optin page. By getting somebody's name together with their e-mail, you get the opportunity to personalize any future correspondence with them, which is proved to increase open and reply rates. Put simply, if you address something to somebody individually, they feel more connected and are much more likely to retort well to your mailings. There are some situations in which asking for a phone number is also a good idea, but it should be added as an optional thing. If you force people into supplying a phone number, they may decide against opting in all together.
3. Make your submit button stand out.
Again, you want to make it extremely clear what it is that you want your visitor to do. Have your submit button say something similar to, "subscribe now " or "sign me up now " or "free instant access" (which is what is says on my own site). Also, by having the submit button give a strong call to action, your visitor is more likely to follow through. Because as I said before, people often need to be told what to do.
